| Trenerzy: | Assistant Professor in the Cathedral of Costs Accounting and Management Accounting, cooperator of consulting companies, a business consultant, an experienced teacher who classes for the universities and for employees of companies of all sizes. Author and co-author of several books, most important: „Accounting in Corporate Strategic Management” (Wolters Kluwer 2008), „Methods of Corporate Valuation and Value Creation” (PWE 2007), „Cost and Management Accounting” (WAE 2006), “The Role of Managerial Accounting in Supporting Corporate Performance Management” (WAE 2009). Member of Performance Measurement Association, Centre for Business Performance (Cranfield School of Management, United Kingdom). Author of consulting projects including valuation of the company and preparing financial analysis for the privatization purposes. |

Basic Financial Terms and Concepts 1) Fundamental financial terms and cost concepts – how to recognize variable and fixed costs, direct cost and overhands etc. 2) Financial accounting versus management accounting and controlling – the basic differences and practical consequences 3) Elements of financial statement (balance sheet, profit and loss account, cash flow statement) 4) Interrelationships among different elements of financial statement II. Financial Analysis 1) Financial ratios (leverage ratios, liquidity ratios, efficiency ratios & profitability ratios) 2) The DuPont System as a comprehensive tool for investigating the reasons of financial situations 3) Financial planning – additional funds needed formula and cash budgeting 4) Cash conversion cycle and net working capital management III. The use of accounting information and controlling in management support 1) Cost assignment – how to assign overheads to products and services 2) Product costing – how to establish unit product cost 3) Variable and absorption costing – how to prepare profit and loss account statement according to law and for controlling purposes 4) Cost-volume profit analysis – how to calculate break-even point and margin of safety 5) Activity-based costing – how to assess product and customer profitability on the basis of activity analysis IV.
